Well, this CD is a real time-warp from 37 years ago! If you are into your rock music history, these ads will bring the memories flooding back.
As part of our audio production business (long since closed down) we used to collect this great audio material and then distribute it to the guys running rock programs on community radio - just imagine opening up with one of these ads and then going into some classic Doobies or Burdon - makes for a unique radio show experience.
So what is on this CD?
This is a CD of the station tapes used for concert advertisments in the year 1975 of bands visiting Dallas Texas - all the big big names (many of which I have or am going to advertise on vinyl at a later date - when time permits).
Standard radio promo production - background music of the band, vocals giving information about the concert/where/when and price
Can you believe this? Going to a concert of Led Zeppelin or Black Sabbath for just $6.50 !! and thats the expensive seats, prices advertised as low as $4.50
Hell, you couldn't even get a beer now for those prices!
So, the CD contains 59 radio advertisements as broadcast on KZEW (Dallas Texas) in 1975
Each advertisement has its own track
Each is a professional transfer from tape to CD - these do NOT sound crappy!!
Durations are around 15 seconds per slot - some longer.
On the inside of the front cover is a complete listing of the track, the concert being promoted and the date of going to air.
