This equipment has been in storage for a couple of years and I have tested the tuner over a couple of days, everything is in full working order except as noted below.

I seem to remember we got this equipment in the 80's, it was barely used in our audio production business and so sat in the cupboard for most of the time. When pressed into service, it was to check out some system combinations (speakers/amplifiers/preamps) and then put away again.
A pretty standard stereo FM & AM tuner which is designed to mate with the A M50 amplifier I have advertised seperate to this tuner.

This is the original remote - RC 124S which actually runs a whole Onkyo based system.
You will also get the remote wired connector - its nothing special anyway, just a stereo 3.5mm male plug to male plug
Central to this remote control is this Tuner.
It receives the IR remote signals and if not the tuner being controlled, the signals are sent via a wired connection to the amplifier, CD player and tape deck.
So just to make it clear, a simple cable is plugged into the rear of this tuner and this plugs into the other Onkyo components.
EQUIPMENT TESTING:
Tuner turns on, all controls function and display on the front panel.
Oh dear, testing has been completed and there is a problem.
AM - working great, tuning the stations, audio is very good - no problems
FM - NOT working at all, yes the front panel shows everything is ok EXCEPT the signal level meter indicates nothing.
When not muted, there is white noise as expected but no matter where I tune - no audio.
I have looked inside and thought about this one and believe the VHF module is faulty.
I don't have the time or inclination to repair this fault so this Tuner is offered as is.
This means:
AM receiver - great
FM receiver - dead, needs repair
Remote control and system - great
Remote tested and functions perfectly.
I can control the Tuner without any problems, also the amplifier was plugged into the remote system and I was easily able to switch inputs and make that volume control rotate by itself - just this by itself is pretty cool!
I am happy the remote system is fully functioning
COSMETIC CONDITION:
Front panel is clean and undamaged
Black metal case is also clean, undamaged and no scratches - excellent condition
Initial advertised price has been dropped to allow for this "talkback radio" only receiver but as this unit comes with the remote, just the remote alone is worth the money if you are building up a nice little Onkyo system.
I MAY have the tape deck and CD player but I haven't found them in the storage units yet.
